"Today, everyone is thirty. Everyone wants to feel sophisticated." - Michael Kors.This collection was spontaneous and passionate... I only came up with the overall idea three weeks ago on a train ride home.
Since the war may be coming to an end and we have democrats in the Senate... it makes me think of a time of peace and especially expression and freedom. It led me to this vision of a girl who decks herself out from cloche to toe in glamour, the 1920s flapper scene, parties day and night.
I built a collection from there... it's rather themeless... it's just me.
It's kind of a never-ending beauty.

I was thinking about this collection the other day and wondering why I hadn't faved it...
It's so hard to create something this wearable AND sophisticated and you've nailed that here.

As time passes, I can better evaluate this work...
Ultimately the ideas are there but because of college the level of illustration/detail of the pieces are decreased. Notice how my "Helsinkian" and "Faux Tendu" are much more detailed...
I thought about re-illustrating it so it looks more like what my mental projection looks like.
Wouldn't you just love if we all could just mentally transfer our thought onto paper?

I totally know what you mean-- to be frank, I have a lot more merit as a fashion designer than illustrator. And yes, I desperately wish I could beam my ideas on to paper, all superhumany and what not. (haha can't tell this one's an art nerd, huh?)

so this whole "FASHION DESIGN CONTEST!" is kinda a scam in at least one sense... i just support like fashion-design-illustration forums and freedrawings and stuff like that now. the competitions are excellent and motivating, but just in a lot of ways they fall short sensically.

nice collection, although Im seeing more fifties chic than flapper style hjere, I like the colour pallette, although that one black dress seems to stand outish to me for the collection, it slightly knocks the cohesion of it as a whole....the whole thing ha sthis gorgeous airy elegance to it,m and that one kinda spoils that, still overall a strong collection, and may I suggest swapping models for the fourth and fith looks?

I think it's only so jarring for him because the model is also black, which contrasts strongly with pale and purple on one side and pink and white on the other. Definitely more than 20's flapper, but that's not a bad thing in my mind--my collections usually have three or four themes in varying degrees of intensity mashed up together.

For some reason, I don't think this collection is that attractive when your saying this is for the glamour girl who parties all night. It seems kind of nun-ish?
I thought your particular shade orange was not that attractive and a bit yuckish.
For some reason, the collection does really stick together as much as some of the other collections I've seen from you and on Deviantart.
This is not really that modern, but it's more vintagey, '20s era.
But still pretty. Still pretty. J'adore the the arm length gloves!

i do like chanel... it has a timelessness to it. some of what karl does though is scary and off though. i dont like a lot of what he specifically does (esp. in his own collection)

can't really see the dress. and usually lighter dresses look way better and are contrasted more.
