Description
This was actually the first idea I came up with for "Balance," so I'm glad to have finally drawn it.
For those who haven't been following this series so far, "Finding the Balance" is a romantic-comedy comic strip series featuring Death the Kid and Liz Thompson a few years after the current canon timeline (they are 22ish and 25ish respectively).
I figured that Kid, as a shinigami, will be heavily employed by Shibusen one way or another. I'm just using my creative license to give him an office and officework, haha.
Yikes, I just can't develop or draw backgrounds.

Haha, 8 is Kid's favorite number. It's the only number that has perfect bilateral symmetry.

Really? You've never thought of KidLiz, even after scenes like these: [link] [link] [link] Then again, not many people think of KidLiz, it seems. People seem to prefer crazy crack pairings for Kid. XD

Well, I'd usually search other pairings on here like SoulxMaka. I didn't put him in a crack pairing, but I never thought of him with Liz. In my mind I suppose he was just alone...
And where are those links from? Is that the manga? Cuz if it is I didn't read the manga yet, just saw the anime because I was forced to by friends....

On a side note, I highly recommend reading the manga. So very highly. The anime's lackluster ending was so bad in comparison to the incredible epicness of the manga. The anime diverged at the end of Battle for Brew, so I recommend reading from ch. 37 on (the anime changed the ending of that battle). Trust me, the manga's turn of events is sooooo much better than the anime's, and the manga is still ongoing with no foreseeable end in sight.

yeah I know how it is I'm working on a KidXLiz dojinshi and it's taking long because I don't know how to draw a scene...sucks...
or maybe they could have a fight you know Kid wouldn't want to take time for her because he wanted to get his work done perfectly but Liz would be angry because this type of thing would happen every night and so on....just an idea(I would draw it myself but Id rather leave you to do it because you're an awesome artist)

Haha, that scene sounds cute, but I think you should draw it. Since it's your idea, I'm sure you'd do your scene more justice than I could. As much as I enjoy drawing KidLiz, I also love seeing how others choose to depict them. And trust me, drawing doujinshi is a great way to improve your skills.

Hmm, it depends on how you define canon. They haven't had any love confessions, kisses, etc (yet), but they've been best friends and partners since the very beginning of the series. They mutually depend on each other for emotional stability, have a very strong bond (along with Liz's sister Patti), and are inseparable. Since ch. 56 (I think), there have been scenes hinting that Liz may have romantic feelings for Kid. There's little romance in Soul Eater aside from the Soul--Maka romance, but there's small developments here and there for other pairings.

Of course I miss many of the ideas in the art because I am unfamiliar with the characters it is based on, but I still find them enjoyable. You are getting better at your art even if you still don't like your backgrounds, I think they are fine. Subtle things, like the white auras as she asks if he can spare 8 minutes, add quite a lot to the scene.
