since the dawn of their civilization the ha-lyiss practiced slavery on their own kind, and during the first skirmishes with kothrah and poleepkwa they took prisoners for slave trade as well, and when in time of peace the poleepkwa taught them part of their own splicing technology, the ha-lyiss used it to create sentient species that could serve them.
the Jhyi-e'ekwa are one of these, created from poleepkwa drone stock for hard work, these aquatic chimerae are physically strong and inherit from the poleepkwa a great teamwork thanks to a basic hive mind. the first specimen were incompatible with the poleepkwa hive mind since the ha-lyiss did not trust them, they didn't want them to have any control on their slaves, however with the foundation of ICA a few khyi-e'kwa that could bond with poleepkwa were created. nowadays, they're still one of the most successful creations of ha-lyiss spawncrafters.
