It was a beautiful day outside. King Ahadi had promised little Taka he could show him this really cool spot that he had found. Mufasa and Taka had only been exploring a couple times since they were not yet allowed to venture away from Priderock. With the constant threat of the hyenas lately King Ahadi had broken promises to his sons again and again. But not today. Today was too warm and too peaceful They should have been able to see the entire kingdom already but Ahadi even worried for his own safety outside of home. Mohatu's reign was so peaceful and every one got along. It even stayed that way for a few years after his passing. Ahadi had grown up knowing that life of peace and was pleased to know his newborn sons would also know that life. But once the new Hyena Monarch had taken over everything changed. This new monarch seemed to embraced chaos. Ruling was a game to her and she was not fond of the lions ruling over her. Ahadi was certain she is out to start a war. But he did his best keeping them in line. Today was quiet after all. Maybe he finally got through to the hyenas yesterday? Maybe someday they can be friends? Maybe his sons and the hyenas can rule together peacefully and everything will be like it was before. Just maybe..... That will be Ahadis new promise. For his sons to work with the hyenas and rule together someday...... "Father, hurry!" said Taka "Im coming." Ahadi said with a smile. For today the hyenas will not rule his thoughts. Today is the day he will not break a promise to his sons. Unkowingly this will be the day taka will befriend a hyena and change their lives forever.

Hehe, so my perception of Ahadi is that he was just really bad at keeping promises. I like to believe in my head canon that he was handpicked by Mohatu and given that name as a promise to keep the peace going and betrothed him to his daughter Uru. He tried hard to live up to his promise of being a peaceful king but Ahadi grew up knowing only peace in the pridelands and never thought he would have to deal with things such as war when he became king. He was mentally unable to deal with the harsh realities of this war and tried too hard to keep peace by pleasing everybody, eventually being the downfall for everybody in many ways. I think eventually in his later years as king he learned to enforce his laws and kept the hyenas mostly out of the way but by then there was already a wedge between his sons. I think Ahadi had instilled that great sense of understanding and kindness in mufasa, but i think mufasa also had Urus temper and after witnessing everything his father did wrong he was not afraid to be stern, thus giving us the great king we know and love. Taka on the other hand had taken Ahadis want to be friends with the hyenas very literally. He became friends with them at a young age. While everyone else was realizing there would be no chivilry between lions and hyenas taka was already corrupted into believing his family where the bad guys. He became an outcast and caused many fights among his family. Mufasa was chosen to Rule alone instead of them together, side by side like planned. Making things worse. Mufasa was worshiped now and Taka was looked at as nothing. Since taka was no longer friends with the hyenas Mufasa kept him around. He understood why Taka was they he was and believed they had hope of being brothers again. Unknowingly to mufasa, taka was still very full of hate and continued to be friends with the hyenas. He couldnt understand why Mufasa was so much better than him when all he wanted was peace, like his fathers before him. Mufasa's anger towards the hyenas was nothing to admire. Taka should have been chosen to rule, not mufasa. He would have been the one to bring the lions and hyenas together and he wouldve been worshipped as the greatest king. But everyone was blind to that in his eyes. Ironically Mufasas and Takas idea of peace givin to them by their father became both their downfalls. Scar (and the hyenas) couldn't let go of his hate.

If your wondering i havnt decided who gave Taka his scar. Im thinking either Ahadi during their time of feuding.
And if your wondering where Uru was in all this, she spent more time trying to keep the peace at home. Since her and Ahadi feared safety outside of home she spent a good deal keeping watch of cubs at priderock. I believe she is the daughter of Mohatu and whoever his queen was. Uru had a bit of temper but she didnt let it rule her actions- she was very smart, like her father and more fierce than angry. But she was more scrawny like her mother so she wasnt taken very seriously by the animal kingdom when it came to the war. Which is why Ahadi did most of the deffending in the lands. She was still highly respected as a queen but only for her thoughts and ideas.
