It was traditionally colored with prisma markers and pencils, then suped up in Photoshop
I do like how it came out, though I may touch it up sometime in the future if I figure out what it is about it that's pulling at my brain.
The dragon is interesting as it embodies the element Frost. instead of fire, it's breath is crystalized as it exhales, and the spines on him and the small scales you see littering his body are actually Ice. The dragon can perspire (in a sense) Ice, so it can continue to rebuild broken spines, create new ones, detatch them, or even encase it's entire body in thick glacial quality ice. So there you have it, the frost dragon

That's very neat, and some really good ideas come in that description. I don't know... I like it, but it's not as sharp as I'd like it to be. This reminds me though of some fine quality pictures that some artists have done for some of the battling card games... the art isn't full done masterwork or gallery quality, but soft and brushed about, like shady crayons or colored pencil, which can be just as good as anyone's paint. Having that unfinished quality about their looks however, makes it seem more like a "field guide illustration" and enhances the feel of the game. That's what this reminds me of. Well done. I like the watered down view of him through his giant ice cube.
