This is fantastic, I love the colours, which seem to hold half the mystery of the painting for me.

Its not that interesting, just involves far too much explination to people who dont actually know me irl for an 'artists comment'

My favourite colour is a very yellow green at the moment lol. So that might be why, it relaxes me

Aw man! Kat, there are times when I actually hate you cause I'm so frickin' envious of how talented you are! This is beautiful, darn you, and I love the textures and the blending from light to dark. I'm not going to ask what it means, I'm having much to much fun wondering and I think the mystery just makes it more awesome.
You're just too @#$!%#@ talented...

LOL looser I get so distracted so frikken easily
Ok, so in the bright light you can just see a pathway leading on a curve around to the left, there are two thin (therefore probably young) dead trees and vines hanging between them a little like a natural guiding fence.
There are two guards in the background, yes. There's one almost directly behind the one that in shadows, not intentionally or whatever, if you were to take two steps to the left you'd be able to see it.
It's in pretty much the same position as the one you can actually see (which is behind the lantern not prodding it ) The one in the foreground is, I figure, the one that's giving the message of, you know, 'don't come in here unless you have good will or whatever, foreboding, foreboding, blah blah blah' and the other two are placed such a position that if you were to ignore the first they just might 'accidentally' drop their scythes as you walked through and slice you in half.
The front statue just happens to be under more trees than the other two (note all the fallen leaves) so there's just more shadow on it, I spose if the other two were under shadow too they might look angry as well.
On the plaque is like a 'Welcome to Nebraska' type sign... except not Nebraska, and itβs not actually a state or country anyway lol. But you know a Welcome and beware sigh I spose. They're symbols that have been mostly worn away by the weather and covered by moss etc over time, so even if you were to read that particular dialect its in such a bad way now that it was be pretty damn difficult.
I'll never understand your faving system But thanks and guess what?! I'm almost better! Woo!

I love that all though they're warm colour's they seem cold in this picture. The statues are my favorites. I love the way you've drawn the faces so anguler.
loose and lost feathers always make me think of the bird that it came from in to ways: Its either much happier without it or its dead. I'll pike them up anyway if thery're not plain ones- come birds butt? pfft, who cares. We'll all get the bird flu eventaully anyway.

I tried to use mostly cold reds and yellows just to give the effect that it wasnt as welcoming place as it as once.
LOL Woot! Bird flu here we come!

I adore you. I'd love to know more about your feather/lantern thing, but I see the symbolic nature of it all, either way.

Hmm, mayble I should write a journal entry on them sometime lol
but in short, feathers are originally important to a bird, right? Keep them warm, keep them flying, keep them from looking like a plucked chicken etc etc. And when you find one lying on the grownd, that important thing has been discarded, weather it be it wasnt needed anymore, or wether it be that something dramatic happened and it was ripped out.

Wow this piece is awesome. I love how the trees frame the piece and I absolutely love the way you used light and color. The statue to the right is so awesome. Just everything about this compositionally is awesome! Great use of textures also, God I wish I could paint!
