"Snape said nothing, but walked forwards and pushed Malfoy roughly out of the way. The three Death Eaters fell back without a word. Even the werewolf seemed cowed.Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face.
'Severus ... please ...'
Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore.
'Avada Kedavra!'
I have one thing to say about this – SEVERUS SNAPE IS NOT EVIL!

Whoever doesn't know by now that Snape cannot simply be called "evil" lacks basic literacy skills. JK made his true allegiance so abundandly clear in DH that even those who didn't pick it up before will have had a hard time missing the "poor wittle abused boy" aspect to his character in "The Prince's Tale" chapter, which, in the world of literature, excuses a lot of what he did before to a lot of readers. Not the most positive of takes on someone who abuses his power as a teacher and likely used to go around murdering people in his youth (not counting Dumbledore's euthanasia).
And that is spoken as a rabid Snape fan.
Thanks for bringing back the memory of that chapter. While sad, it was one of the most effective ones in all seven books for me.

It reminds me so much of the actual cover of the HP books. That's a big achievement.

Because Dumbledore MADE him do it, he pleaded with him to and made him promise. Yeah I wanted the green to be a sickly yellow kind of green.

That part of the book made me curse. Really. I was like "Snape, you dirty little whore!" Plus... more words.. I like how you can't really see everybody's faces clearly. If I tilt my head to the side, right above Dumbledore, I see a skull, like the Dark Mark. Of course... that could just be me.. *shrugs*

I love the shade of green you used for Avada Kedavra. Some people go for a really bright, crisp green, but I think this sickly shade creates the mood much better.
