Description This old barn is a piece of living history..
Old, decrepit, ugly and useless.. it has more personality and style than the majority of the 'chic' houses built today...

------
Thanks to Steven's persistent nagging, I finally dragged my behind out to the middle of nowhere to take this shot .. he also edited it a bit to make look as great as it does now.. thanks babe, wouldn't have happened without you

btw... check out his gallery.. it's amazing

I'm so happy that you like this It's definitely an old one too. I'm always a little curious.. how did you find it?

I typed "old houses" into the search engine, which is ironic. But, hey, I found your awesome photo, so it turned out to be a good choice.

hehehehe...cute.and very historical looking indeed..a true relic. We've got dozens of those around here in Indiana..lol but seriously I agree that probably that barn is more well constructed than most of the modern houses nowdays. Still I like how this one stands out in the way the picture was manipulated, looks like from the turn of the other century... western style kinda...I've never tried doing watercolor but this feels like an inviting subject picture to try doing this media one one day... would you mind if I use this photo as reference to do a watercolor or color pencil drawing one day...? I don't think I'll do that soon..got to many projects in my hands right now..but this is something I'd like to bookmark for the future ...I'll be sure to post the direct link to this deviation once I posted in my gallery thanks!

i love the sepia tones. What kind of camera and film did you use. If I may ask. The sharpness speaks to me.

Katerina423 In reply to quixoticsage [2004-02-08 09:29:06 +0000 UTC]

actually for this one i used a regular Olympus digital camera and then played with the image in Photoshop to get his effect..... so i guess i sort of cheated

quixoticsage In reply to Katerina423 [2004-02-08 10:22:19 +0000 UTC]

This really is a great shot, babe. You chose a very nice angle and going with the sepia tone really works for this, I believe.

So, now who's shooting calendar quality photos.

Thanks for the props too, Katie. But, that really wasn't necessary.

hehe calendar quality? are you joshin' me!? .. i definitely don't know about that.. but thank you for the thought

oh you're so welcome for the props, and if i only did it cuz it was necessary that would make me a very ungrateful person, and i don't like that ... but seriously i would've never taken this if it wasn't for you. I couldn't even remember what barn you were talking about half the time you were nagging me, remember!? hehe and you really did make it look so much better, so yea.. you deserved the props, this one is definitely for you babe

I live in a little suburban town in the bay area in CA ... over the years i've just managed to find so many awesome pretty places around here, and it's still close enough to the city so you get a taste of "civilization" .. i just love it ...
i'm really glad you like this, thanks so much

Someone said it's like a postcard and I think it is indeed . Wonderful shot. You choose perfect colors. Only, I cant see full view. Will you chack plase? Don't know is it just current problem on DA (often happened) or you have to submit again.
