Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump, Alberta, Canada.

This was to celebrate the museum/interpretive centre of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump's 19th birthday.

I had gone to visit my grandmother and, of course, visiting with my grandmother means going to every available museum in driving distance. So we went to Head-Smashed-In and lo-and-behold it was their 19th birthday with 4 different styles of dancing performances and a dozen dance categories as well. It was great, I took picture after picture and hopefully some turned out!!

Capoeira is a type of Brasilian dancing; it started as dances for the african slaves to use to get them selves into shape so they could run away from their masters. There is a fighting element to capoiera as well, young warriors would use this style to train. It is a strenuous yet stretching type of dance. Very beautiful and very explosive.
