Description
So this is what that character is from-and I guessed a bunch of you would think steven universe because of her siluette, but no you where all wrong
Probably a comic I'll do in the future, it was heavily inspired by steven universe btw so it's not a coincidence about the similarities with a pair of certain characters~
The GlamCove witches: A bunch of witches trying to live peacefully in a small city but often have to fight off monsters and other mythical beings.
It doesn't sounds so interesting at the moment, but trust me. This is just a part of the things that will happen, wink wonk~
I can't wait to talk about these characters, but I'll try not to give away any spoilers too hoho

they look too obviously like steven universe characters, i would try and make them a little more original. the first one is literally pilot pearl in a different outfit without the gem, the second one is a female steven, the third one is the only slightly original one, and the last one is just a recolored amethyst.
plus all the heights are the same for their corresponding "inspirations".
the concept it also just a steven universe rip-off.
my advice is to draw inspiration from SEVERAL things you love instead of just one, that way its less painfully obvious what you copied.

A bit of an advice, maybe idk tell some good parts in giving constructive criticism than just hitting me with all bad things at once, because from my feelings from this, it felt like you treated me like I was an idiot. I understand that this may have come for good intentions. I'm just not been having the best day today so I'm sorry if this came out as sorta rude,,,

I'm kinda with Sakurablitz here, I mean maybe the delivery was a bit rude, but the criticism is completely valid. I've struggled with creating my own identity when writing characters and its tough, but when most people look at something, they think about it's flaws before its good qualities. I like the designs, especially the one on the far right, but when you look at all of them together and look at the story, the resemblance to Steven universe is way too blatant. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out for this project in the future, though.

Im so hyped! So, what kind of spells do they use when they're not fighting monsters?~

hoho they kinda use all kinds of spells to make their everyday living a lot easier. Basic things like making the dishes clean itself, making inanimate objects move to to help doing basic shores, mostly affective when the gang are busy with education.
A lot of these spells can sometimes get out of hand and may tend to sabotage instead of helping, so one gotta check them out from times to times to see if everything is still in order :'D
The witches have special themed powers toward what their hobbies and interests are.

The with pastel-like clothes named Doris has an interest for water and flora
The one next to her named Barb has interests in photography and there would be very interesting abilities~
The tall one has interest in time and space
the last one has interest in fire
these are just one-dimensional characteristics, if I told more there would be spoliers, plus I don't know half of the abilities names (not a english native speaker)

hmm... that's a really hard one. I feel I don't want to be worrying too much about the genre, more like it's unfluenced by a lot of different genres.

Hopefully it won't be TOO much like SU, the style and the aesthetic is very close to eachother :'D //But I'll have different shading alonf with some other differences. Definitely a not so close plot, trust me.

These characters do look fantastic. My only problem is the possible plot, because it sounds very similar to the situation with the Crystal Gems. Maybe to mix things up, suppose that magic isn't widely accepted. Then the GlamCove witches would have to find ways to keep their powers hidden.

That's why I went a bit short with the info to avoid spoilers. ;> Plus, it's not as frequent with the monsters when it comes to fighting, think more, of a "gravity falls" vibe //if you've seen the show that is. and maybe a bit Harry potter-esque because there is a school...
