We've driven by this spot several times and each time I promise myself "next time we'll stop" - this day had to be the time The snow made all the difference in the textures

Go check out my scrapbook and take a look at the picture I took of my "Ancient One" (I took my old reliable digital out back today. I've had it for quite a while now, its "old and outdated" but still takes better pictures than my daughters new and more current camera! The bee picture however was me shaking, taking the picture from about 12 to 14 feet away with the zoom at x10. (allergic and am not willing to risk it!) The shaking is from the meds tho. I've taken better and clearer pictures with the same camera, just am too lazy to look back thru my photo folders on my pc. LOL

Yeah, just a bit. Now in the winter it's all dead and he stands out a bit more. I haven't taken one during that time in a long while. I will truly cry when he no longer stands.

AWESOME!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I so need to find my picture of the "ancient one" that I took. He's in the wooded area just behind my back fence. He's been there since we moved in, and earned that name when I was planning a scavenger hunt for Halloween in 2005. Wow, that was 7 plus years ago.

the weather has been hot and cold here too, though I don't expect this particular area to get up to the 80's until mid-summer - it is at about 5000'

where we live is only about 1400' so it gets warmer sooner this area is nice to "get away" to in the middle of summer
