Description

In my quest to illustrate all the Doctor's with the TARDIS, I’ve finally gotten to the 8th Doctor! I’ve been looking forward to this one for some time, especially since I really enjoyed the Doctor Who movie that aired on Fox in 1996. Although I wasn’t entirely sure which outfit to illustrate him in, I finally decided to go with the updated version after seeing the “Night of the Doctor” mini episode. It just felt like the right direction.
I also decided to incorporate embers and storm clouds as a prelude to the looming Time War and my loosely planned triptych design between the 8th, 9th and War Doctor illustrations. If you look at the 9th Doctor piece you’ll see a Dalek head on ground symbolizing the end of the Time War and War Doctor piece (when I get to it) will be fully engulfed in flames.
