This was from the in-studio session I photographed before the on-location shoot at the local fair. I loved Joanna's platinum strands, and took every opportunity to fan her hair and create any movement where possible.

Sometimes I leave some elements untouched too, to keep the picture more natural. But the PROs are saying - if it's a beauty shot - it should be perfect.

That's true, I've seen it done different ways. With photographers like Emily Soto, Lara Jade, and Zhang Jingna, I've been seeing more beauty images with slightly messy hair and minor imperfections, so I think it may be a female photographer versus male photographer perspective.

well, maybe. Though Emily Soto is more into natural portraiture than studio beauty shots. It also could be a trend in retouching
