Thank you! The smoke as it was has a blueish tint to it, so I just experimented further with gels and post processing.

Now this is more like it! Attention grabbing, great smoky effect without getting in the way of the model. Still not crazy about the outfit though as the pleat/dart of the skirt is distracting and so is the line/cut of the top. Love the cuff bracelet though as I think that adds to the mood. While the midriff skin is nice, I think that this would have benefitted overall from a simple, sold black one piece garment. That being said, I just love the model's pose, expression, hair and make-up. Nice lighting, too. But I think the arms and face would be more dramatic and highlighted without the bare midriff. But great job on the photography side!!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! I am definitely looking forward to when I can have more control over particular wardrobe looks, but shoots where a designer is involved typically means I can only control hair, makeup, lighting, and poses. Any choices related to the styling of the wardrobe is limited, as designer's do not typically like to mix their designs with other designers. I definitely agree with your points, though!

I posted another image from this set, and I think you'll find it a proper upgrade from 'The Oracle,' image, as the fabric was properly cared for to make the image happen.

Yes, I've had a look and definitely the care in the details makes a big difference, at least to my eye. You are far too professional to have to deal with little imperfections like these as then your own work doesn't show as well. I completely understand about the challenges with not having total artistic control and things you do fabulously well with whatever yo have to work with. Portraiture is not something that I'm at all ready to tackle but I do greatly admire those who can do it! And you do it so very well. Keep up the outstanding work, and always remember that any criticisms from me are only designed to be helpful--whether they actually are or not--but never meant as discouragement, only as a vehicle to improve. I know that often another point of view can be useful. If it's not, then discard it without a thought. As a musician, I know that having someone else listen, really actively listen, at the far end of the room can really help determine whether or not I am communicating what I want to convey. Can be difficult to take sometimes, but as professionals, we understand how to deal with it effectively. I have often been told by non-professionals that I am to critical of a performance, but never by a professional colleague. There's just a different level of listening and perception there. In photography I don't have such a professional level, so I can certainly miss things, but hope that this explains why I say what I do. Let me know anytime if you would rather not have comments such as these as would never wish to offend as I really love and completely respect your work!
