Black and white is common for some illustrations. Maybe not cover art, but think of chapter headers printed with the same ink as the text.
You don't seem to have trouble with details or conceptualization, so . . . Just a thought :]

Really wonderful.....
It all mixes together in such a whimsical way ..... it seems like an encapsulation of a crazy adventure. For me the shadow is the entrance into the piece .... so I feel like it is my shadow ... and my adventure.
I guess like a first person shooter... LOL (maybe I put things in terms of video games too often

That's pretty fantstical XD Good job on making the Alice silhouette blend in and yet stand out really strongly. Do those really fine lines every make your hand hurt? They're making mine hurt in sympathy XD

Well, when drawing traditionally my hand used to ache pretty much, but doing it digitally is very easy and painless. The key is to practice with brush size to not to press the pen too hard. It's good for your hand and your tablet surface
