While smurfs have smurflings, the gremlins have widgets.That's right, these are baby Gremlins.
Unlike Mogwies (from the Speilburg Gremlins), the Widgets are designed to look similar to human babies. And you don't have to worry about giving them water or feeding them after Midnight.
I really think these guys are cute because they look like cross between Blankie (from The Brave Little Toaster) and the Lumas from "Super Mario Galaxy". ^^
If Disney ever made any plushies of the Gremlins and Widgets, I think the Widgets would make perfect toys for toddlers and babies.
Why not? They look soft, squishy, and they have cute little propellers on their heads.
Though sadly, they didn't make it into "Epic Mickey." Maybe it's because of the fact the Fifinella was the only female Gremlin and Disney was afraid that she'll get a bad reputation as a Video Game...... It's for the best to leave her alone.
Anyways, if the Widgets were in the game, they actually can be usefull like the Lumas and the Wisps. Like they can transform in helments to make Mickey jump to higher lengths he can't jump.

Good point. And, yeah, I can see your point about they might be afraid Fifinella might get a bad reputation. Of course, creating some other female Gremlins would be a good way to possibly get around that. Or they could just do the old classic cartoon stand-by of the stork.
