Description Detail of "Flight to Egypt"

"and so back to the desert
always the desert
calling implacable like your history
like the destiny you know nothing of
not yet at least and

flee flee the Wind tells you
home home waning with each bitter step
and can you hear?
hear the knives falling
like lighting
the Herod branch
reaching black into every crib

a chorus of death
no more rattle or bell just
the tolling of a thousand mothers
clutching now (still and bloody bundles)

dead
all of the children
dead

all but one

but his time
is coming too"

the colour, the movement you've got going there, looks like the figure is on fire. i love it. i wish i could have been there during it's construction

Thank you.....I've got a video of it in the works. It was a great weekend and this piece is on exhibit back east right now.
Thank you again...

it's lovely to see someone bringing illumination to something few ever give a second thought to! So often, even if someone does hear it, they're completely passive to the reality of it. It's a true gift you have so don't ever stop using it! Keep bringing new perspective in an eye-catching way. People like you are rare, and the rewards will be great.

I don't know how you continue to do it, but I am moved to tears when I see your work like this.

Could it be the fact that I was raised Catholic and these images conjure up the very mental images I had when these stories were told in Catechism.

Whatever it is, your work brings out a feelin in me that I relish, from days gone by, when I was a child and the only problem I had was my mother yelling at me to hurry or I would be late for class.

Thank you so very much for stirring my soul. I hope to one day move someone like this with my own work.
