how do you get such beautiful coloring? I have tried everything i know of and cannot get results like this!

it's really just playing around with textures and modes on photoshop. literally just sitting and tweaking for hours, and having fun with the variations, which is why I have several versions of this particular image, and I'm still fiddling with it.
it's just playing around and seeing what you like ^_^
try grabbing some free textures (like watercolor textures, great to start out with) and using them to color a piece, using masks and didn't layer modes. might get some good results.
