Very nice, great composition. I like how everything matches.

Thanks. It was just luck that she brought a bikini that matched my little chair.

SHe's too close to the background, and it's causing slight shadows. Another thing is this looks like a one light set-up, and the one light isn't being diffused enough. The one light will work just fine if an umbrella or softbox is fixed properly.

I personally think the cropping above the head is fine, gives it more impact almost. But the feet could have been cropped a little closer.

This one is about the model, not you, but she needs more attitude and spunk. She lacks a lot of confidence and it really shows through here.

She's a brand new model - this was her first shoot.

As for the light - I'd buy real ones if I wasn't broke.

:LMAO: You can use simple things to help diffuse the light . . . *cough*trashbags*cough* Or use cloths as reflectors on the other side of her to help even the shadows. Or even pull her a little further from the background.

Trashbags? You'll have to paint me a picture... because I think trashbags would melt or catch fire...

Are you using hotlights? (continous?) If so, then yeah, they would melt. lol If you're using a strobe then they'd work just fine. You stretch the bag in front of the light (granted it's a white or clearish bag.) Of course, never lay anything against your light no matter what it is. Basically what you're looking to do is find something that will let light pass through it, without changing the color, yet even out and smooth the light so it's not so harsh.

If you really want [link] src="https://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/r /razz.gif" width="15" height="15" alt="=p" title="=p (Razz)" />roductlist& A=details&Q=&sku=13257&is=REG or [link] src="https://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/r /razz.gif" width="15" height="15" alt="=p" title="=p (Razz)" />roductlist& A=details&Q=&sku=280019&is=REG

That's what you're trying to replicate.

Dude, my lights are construction worklights from Ames. I do the best I can with what I can afford.

I only gave you those links as a reference, not to call you poor or anything like that. Believe me, I know about being poor and not being able to afford equipment. Buying my first camera was a months rent I wasn't able to pay . . .

But construction worklights, use a thin white sheet. Hang it a little ways away from the light as to avoid fire because those lights, I'm sure, get pretty hot. The white sheet will be mostly what a softbox does with evening out the light. However, because there is no reflector involved, you will lose a couple of stops. However, you get a smooth, softer light with less shadows.

I haven't had much time to go completely through your gallery yet, but do you prefer doing studio work or location work?

Studio. But that's mostly because it's easier to control the enviornment... plus I don't know too many good locations where I can shoot undisturbed...

i will have to see what she can do after a few more shoots.

Pretty model as always. This is the best of the series to me. I like the pose a lot and the perspective. I guess the only thing that doesn't flow right with me is the fact that the top of her head is so close to the top border, it feels crowded to me. Nice stuff though, I'm a fan of your work.
