Description So while the children cried themselves into Alka-Seltzer-mouth spasms over busted up crayons, I worked on some art. Alright.

“Nixon is a serious pro football freak. He and I are old buddies on this front: We once spent a long night together on the Thruway from Boston to Manchester, dissecting the pro & con strategy of the Oakland-Green Bay Super Bowl game. It was the only time I’ve seen the bugger relaxed – laughing, whacking me on the knee as he recalled Max McGee’s one-handed catch for the back-breaking touchdown. I was impressed. It was like talking to Owsley about Acid…

"…He sure as hell wanted to talk about football. Once I got into the car we became instant buddies. He was good company. I enjoyed him. He got me on the plane, showed me all around. I almost dropped a zippo into the gas tank of his Lear jet.

Interviewer: On purpose?

Hunter: No, no, no. I liked him, at the time there. He was good company. That's all we talked about was football. I was warned that if I mentioned wars or tear gas or protests or anything like that he'd [inaudible].”

Right on, thanks for the kind words. And cool use of it in your journal. I have a few of these Thompson images here, and I'm pleasantly surprised that you chose this - I would've thought the one with crap tables and inveterate gamblers would've been first choice.

That is some impressive typewiter wielding! Nice touch with the spatula too. And as always your colors are really compelling! This is a really active piece!

Awesome, thanks for the compliments. The type set's just from loose images off the net, Washington Post, NY Times, etc - although getting a good pic of Nixon having an aneurism was a challenge. Either way, gotta love Photoshop layering.
