i watched a playthrough of undertale and i heard the person mention that snowdin seems like a nice place so he wondered why the monsters wanted to leave it.
later on when i wanted to draw snowdin, i remembered about the playthrough and decided to make snowdin with a slightly depressing feel to it.
The town itself is drawn to be a nice and warm place with all the yellow lights emanating from the buildings and the cute little Christmas tree in the middle along with all the characters in a cheerful mood.
but i drew the cave in the background to look dark, cold and menacing as a reminder to the monsters that ultimately, they're trapped inside a mountain so they became hopeless like in the game.
*knowing that all the hours and days i put into capturing the feel of the drawing isn't wasted in vain, it fills me with determination*
