This is one of the seven ferrets we have at the Sanctuary for Predators and Exotic Animals. Wait, they live at SPEA? We actually adopted a group of 5 from a local animal shelter since they were hard to find a new home for. The others came from private persons who had to give their pets away out of various reasons. Ferrets are no wild animals but pets. They were bred for hunting to chase rabbits out of their burrows. Ferrets are group animals, so if you should ever decide to get ferrets as a pet: Please get at least two of them.
Children love these little and cute furballs - sure who doesn't like an animal you can pet all day and which will probably fall asleep in your lap?
Ferrets can eat special ferret food, they'll be just fine with normal cat food (both wet and dry) as well. A special treat is vitamin paste
