Just an attempt of airbrushing, I usually don't paint that way, cos I like more cartoon-anime style, with lines and stuff...but I want give it a try to draw a Fremen in Arrakis.
kind of a afternoon or something like that, and you can see both moons of arrakis, the important one is the red, with the muad'dib form shadow inside
the fremen is calling Shai-Hulud, that's why the Fremen has his maker hooks, and the thumber is somewhere far in the sand...
I'm not happy how the sand turns out, but, I need more practice with this time of painting xD...

I'd first like to congratulate you on stepping away from those awful Japanese coloring books, to /real/ art.
And I'd secondly like to congratulate you on doing a good job.
Personally, I find that the mixed styles (the clarity of the moons and of the Freman against the style that you did the sky and sand in) unappealing to the eye, you did each of them very well.

After almost 28 years of being on this Earth, my father finally convinced me to read the Dune series. And this helped stir some fantastic visuals in my mind's eye.

Oh! Me gusta el aire dramatico y sinceramente a mi si me gusta la textura de la arena, bueno aun se puede trabajar, pero me parece que tiene un estilo diferente y me convense. Por cierto, me gustaria leer Dune, me lo recomendarias?

claro, pero sΓ³lo los libros escritos por el maestro Frank Herbert, que son 6. porque tambien hay otros, pero escritos por su hijo y otro compadre.
en resumen, lee DUNE, el primer libro, de frank herbert.
es de ciencia ficcion por siacaso, pero es bastante diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados, no hay robots, ni parafernalia futurista a lo isaac asimov.
