Description So yeah, I did an influence map. Good times. There are so many more that can go on here but I'm too lazy to add more or make another one. I just added the first things that came to mind.
1. Michael Turner - amazing pencils
2. Peter Steigerwald - amazing colors
3. J. Scott Campbell - fun pencils
4. Joelle Jones - amazing pencils and human being
5. Harry Potter - amazing in every format
6. Zac Efron - I watch HSM a lot while drawing... shut up!
7. cute guys - yeah... get over it.
8. William-Adolphe Bouguereau - amazing painter and person
9. Nick Orr - amazing painter
10. Alphonse Mucha - so clean... I love clean
11. Harry Bush - even though he lived in shame... amazing.

I know! Even though he lived in shame and threw tons of his drawings in the trash or burned them... very sad story of his life. Such an amazing and tortured human being.

My friend bought his book and it had a mini bio in there and he was terribly ashamed of who he was and hated that he made money drawing gay erotica. It really tore him apart and in the end he told his friend to clean out his art room or he was going to trash everything... that friend put all those works into a book after Harry Bush passed away... he didn't think Harry would want his 'secret' to be out while he was still alive. It's really sad. He served in the military and loved it but being who he was it was very difficult for him. That's the short version... ^_^

That's really sad...I was wondering why he didn't seem to have a great amount of work floating around. I could tell he was probably a manly man with how he drew his guys, but he served in the military? Wow. I wanna get that book now.

I really like the way you set it up. Very appealing to the eye...along with those pics of Zac Efron. I'm just sayin'...lol

I'm surprised Clive Barker isn't on this. You weren't influenced by his artwork? Then again, I don't know how these maps are supposed to work.

LOL Well, I'm not really inspired by his art so much as I am by his Abarat books and his imagination. When it comes to art I really prefer a cleaner look than his paintings, as beautiful as they are. And like I said, there are a ton more people I could add to this... so many movies, books, actors, authors and people that I know.

Aaah, I see. For a second there, I was like "Waitaminute: Doesn't he like Abarat? Where's Carrion?"

OH, speaking of which, is it true that "Absolute Midnight" is going to be released in Sept. 2011? That's what I saw on the main page, but I wanted to confirm it. He's been promising us the sequel for awhile and my sister-in-law keeps asking me 'bout it!

I have no idea when the next one is coming out... if ever. But Sept. 2011 seems sooo far away.... I wonder what the hold up is. I'm still excited regardless! ^_^

Isn't Clive Barker supposed to have some health issues? Like throat cancer or something? Not to sound insensitive, but I really hope he's able to finish the series before something terrible happens to him. I'm sure he's proud of this series and there are still three more books to go (including Midnight) then it'll be hard for him.

I know nothing about him having cancer as of late... All I know is that he's finished the next book and that there is a publishing delay... whatever that means. I wish I could have been there when he read from the new book... don't even know where it was, just read about it. I'm excited to read about new characters! ^_^ And if Candy has changed her look again.

I'm just kind of curious to see how Malingo is going to be in the new book. He went from beaten slave to sea captain in a matter of a few days. I'm not a "shipper," but I love the relationship those two have. A truly beautiful brothers/sister thing going on there.

Maybe I was wrong about the cancer thing. I thought I read that he had throat cancer (he does sound pretty horse when he talks).

I think he just had polyps and they were bad enough that they had to be removed... and he had to quit smoking cigars. So manly! LOL
