Hello Kitty fake cupcake I made for a friend's going away present. I am really happy with the way this one turned out.As Hello Kitty is trademarked to Sanrio, I will not be selling this design, but I think I would like to do some of my kawaii animal designs as fake cupcakes soon. Those WILL be on sale when I get the Etsy shop going.

Actually, there isn't any Sculpey in this one at all. All my fake cupcakes have plaster filling the base and then a styrofoam half dome that I coat in a thin layer of paper clay. I just added the ears at the same time I was coating things and then made the nose and bow separate and glued them on later when things were dry.

I am in the process of making more fake cupcakes for sale in my Artfire shop once I get that launched. I'll be putting an announcement up on here and on my Facebook fan page [link] when it's open. I can't sell Hello Kitty since she's a trademarked character, but I am going to be making other kawaii animal cupcakes. So far have a kitty and a bunny.
