Description
Grace was born the only daughter of an Irish Cheiftan, Owen O’Malley. The family made a living on the coast fishing, trading, and taxing anyone who used their waters. She ruled the Umaill Kingdom of Ireland after her father died, and used her inherited ships for piracy.

It is said that she gave birth to her son on her ship and within the hour, when her boat was boarded by pirates, she appeared on deck and leading her ships into battle.

At the age of 56, Grace was captured and imprisoned by sir Richard Bingham, the English governor who was appointed to rule over Ireland. She lost influence, land, and wealth while she was imprisoned. After hearing that her brothers and son were also captured she petitioned to the Queen Elizabeth I to release her family.

She set sail for England and met the Queen in September of 1593 at Greenwich castle. The two agreed to return any prisoners on both sides, Grace was returned her lands and was given permission to return to her piracy as long as it was in the name of England. She continued her piracy until her retirement to Rockfleet Castle in 1603.

Also, I wanted to ask: is anyone having issues with the deviation title hating on punctuation even though they’re listed as the ones that are ok to use? I haven’t had that issue with previous posts that contain punctuation before, and I was going to use the same symbols I’ve used before like ‘/: and I can’t seem to find a fix for it -
