I finally managed to finish the portraits of the two main characters from my story titled, yes, you guessed right, The Beast and the Swallow . It is a mixed-media work. The portraits themselves are drawn traditionally with soft pastels, white acrylic ink, and black fine liners. The text (font is Dioszeghiensis ), as well as the book were added digitally with Krita. Now, a bit about the characters. The Beast is Noah Lux Norden, the duke of Norden and illegitimate son of the Limerian Emperor (here is another depiction of him ). He is a skilled warrior and a strict ruler, beloved by his men and hated and feared by his enemies. The Swallow is Lorelei, lady Norden, his wife. She is the illegitimate daughter of count Orten and a healer by trade. Both Noah and Lorelei were forced into their marriage by Noah's half-brother, the second imperial prince, as means to undermine the power of the dutchy of Norden. Now, the two need to learn to live together in order to survive all the schemes thrown in their way. But more than that, would they manage to find a way to each other's heart?
