For the ~teentitans contest - Make Your Own TeenTitan!

Alright, so I went a little overboard with the backstory/description... But it was fun!

I am quite pleased with how this one turned out. ^^

Codename: Vermillion

Real Name: Haylie Abbott

Powers: Can transform into a pure energy form. Her energy form is a glowing reddish-orange, most often assuming the shape of her normal body. This energy form can, however, change shape at will, and can also become intangible. Her energy form allows for flight and energy blasts, and heightens strength and speed.

Origin: Haylie was orphaned as an infant, with no recollection of her parents. Taken from the orphanage for an underground research project, over many years Haylie was subjected to a variety of experiments, which ultimately led her to obtain her powers. After the project was discovered, it was abruptly terminated and Haylie fled. Enrolling herself at a private boarding school, Haylie voraciously learned how to be a ‘normal’ girl, from schoolwork to clothes to boys, and would use her powers to fight the occasional villain. Eventually, this led her to meet the Teen Titans.

Initiation: She first met the Titans during a fight with Cinderblock, who had apparently found a new city to wreak havoc upon. The Titans located Cinderblock and found her fighting it, and quickly joined in on the action. Upon kicking Cinderblock’s brick-shaped butt, the thoroughly impressed Titans offered her a membership, and a place to stay at the Tower. She gratefully accepted, and has undergone rigorous training to become a true Teen Titan.

Personality: Despite a rough past, Haylie bears a very positive attitude, having learned to appreciate the little things in life. She can be serious when necessary, and is very devoted to her work, but she likes to have fun, and has a unique brand of humour. She usually has a bold, confident edge to her, though sometimes becomes self-conscious and apprehensive in regard to her powers. The Titans are helping her to gain confidence in her own abilities, and continue to teach her the importance of trust and friendship.

Relationships: Haylie’s come to fit in quite well with the Titans. She enjoys gaming with Beast Boy and Cyborg, meditating with Raven, training and working out with Robin, and doing girly activities with Starfire. Haylie gets along well with all of the Titans, however has become especially close to Beast Boy and Robin.
