Maybe these Boogeymen reflect their appearances on the child's fears?
Like in Boogeyman 1, you play as a very young child, so the child only feared the darkness.
But in Boogeyman 2, the child you play as would probably fear adults in jackets.
It's just speculation.

I am a hard core fan of boogeyman and this is what I think

in boogeyman2 the doll says he can break his stolen sole into pieces (more than one) and she also say's at the end "he was trying to get you brother in the other room using his weaker soles" in boogey man (v2.0) when you go and try to open a locked door it will say something and on the door down the hallway said "I can't go into my sister's room" or the more hilarious line "if I go in there I will suffer a fate worse than the boogeyman" but that is Thomas's sister room so while the weaker(naked) soles go after him the much more powerful(and more decently dressed) sole's go after his sister

its a good theory but its still just that
