I haven't started yet, but I should. I just can't figure out what I want my first cat to be like. He/she is going to be an apprentice in Dawnclan... I can't choose between the look of an oriental shorthair, british shorthair, main coone/norwegian forrest cat, or scottish fold... They're all nice looking...
How often can you add another character? I read about how you can have four and replace one, etc...

Umm there's no hard and fast rule about how long you have to wait to make a new character but typically you want to complete at least two or three (I would play safe and say three) assignments or get a good bit of role playing done with one character before jumping to the next. Just because that way you get to know your own characters pretty well and become more attached to them. Plus when you take the time to use your characters properly you value them all that much more. You can always come up with the design of a second character and reserve a name if you want. Then whenever you're ready submit your next character's application. If you need any ideas here are some examples of what other people in the group came up with using those breeds:

And I'm sure you've seen at least a couple British/American shorthairs in the group, heck my Emberstripe and Blackpaw were supposed to be at least part British shorthair (maybe some Oriental shorthair, Bombay and Russian Blue mixed into Blackpaw though Iunno how well I illustrated that)
