Description (How do you categorize storyboards, anyway?)

This was done as a preliminary exercise for my storyboarding class, so the teacher could gauge where we were.

Hopefully I don't need to explain this, except for this is indeed a true story and that little girl is me at about 4 or 5.

Is that like blood-bending but I can bend jerks?

My dreams of becoming a bouncer can finally come true!!

Based on the icon, I suppose it implies more that you can bend spontaneous combustion... in jerks.

Use responsibly.

Ouch! I'm glad that has never happened to me. I've always been really nervous around hornets. Not so much bumblebees. Nonetheless, I feel you illustrated this very well, and I can totally understand the story and sense the pacing.

One suggestion I have, is that it'd be cool if you switched the angle to a POV when the bee climbs up on your hand, then change angle again to see the smile on your face like in panel 11. Then of course, the sting.

Aww, the expression! That's really cool, I imagine it's not at all easy portraying a story well.

Awesome storyboard and great expressions, do you get ground bees where you live or is that just so that the storyboard flows better?

Same question as yours with the categorization of storyboards... PLEASE tell me if you find out.

Actually, they're yellowjackets. Kinda like hornets, and they do in fact live in the ground. The whole reason I got stung was my naive idea that maybe they'd like it if I helped make their hole bigger. My limit for this exercise was 15 frames though, so I just abbreviated the idea to just jamming the stick in the hole and directly annoying the one about to fly in there.

Sorry if I sound patronizing saying this but I really do mean it, that has to be one of the cutest stories I've heard in awhile and really and truly made me smile <--- but that's the best I can do here. And don't worry the storyboard was 100% clear I just was interested about the whole bee...errr... yellow jackets thing as we don't get them down here.

Sometimes the best stories just come from real life. More and more I understand why my professors are always nagging us to fill sketchbooks... it encourages us to be more observant and notice the fun little stories in real life (that can be used in something later).

I only remember the one sting, but my mom always said I had several... so I wouldn't be surprised. Even considering that yellowjackets can sting more than once.
