Description Because recently I've been refining Dakkan's character... I use him as self-representation a lot, but his actual personality has gone virtually unchanged since I was 14, at which point he was pretty much a Gary Stu. (though I have killed some of his ridiculously unrealistic skillz since)

So, sketches were inspired by my character musings. I'm thinking of changing his weapon from sword to staff, but for now he carries both while I figure him out.

Yup, the otters are my favorites by far. Squirrels are pretty cool too, and hares when they're not being ridiculous... but otters will always top the list for me. Hooray Redwall!

I just experiment a lot with all kinds of different ones, and do what feels fun... lots of energy in body posture and all, and really exaggerated expressions. I'm not sure how to put it better - sometimes watching movies or reading books (or the odd comic book!) can make me want to draw and try things I imagined or saw in them.

I usually hate normal pencils because I get impatient with constantly sharpening them. So for me it's 0.7mm mechanical pencil, which is also a blessing because I tend to draw small and thick pencil lines don't work well for that.

Thanks! It could be hotroot soup, though Dak was never really one for spicy food. Perhaps it's trout chowder.

Haha, thanks. And yes, they are, which is why I'm bothering to bring the ol' otter up to snuff instead of ditching him for a new, balanced character.

I'll have to post (in Scraps, mayhap) the page in which I talk directly to Dakkan about his lack of personality flaws. It's entertaining, at least...

That's a nice range of expressions he has there. And the whole Gary Stu thing? Feh. FEH, I say! You should have seen some of my characters starting out! God, they were all anorexic-looking fanfiction characters that could do as much damage as a six ton sumo with ninja like abilities! It was worse than Micheal Jackson! Most of those characters I just kinda scrapped, though. I only changed some of them...

But yeah. Really good pictures! Makes me glad I'm alive, even though I've got this huge gash up the side of my leg which will kill me any second.

That reminds me, how come no one ever made fun of Micheal Jackson by calling him Michelle Jackson? (sp?)
