It's a nice little zoo in Salt Lake City, UT called Hogle Zoo.

It makes me irrationally happy because they have a cheetah in their logo.

Ah, thanks! Seeing your zoo sketches gave me the idea to ask for a trip to the zoo for my birthday this year and I drew the whole time I was there. I have a lot of fun looking at these.

I've found that I have to go with other artists if I want to sketch. Regular people just don't have the attention span for the way I visit zoos.

Too bad I can't do that, it really sucks. Must be fun though, how much time do you think you spend at one exhibit just sketching?

However long it needs, honestly. If the animal is being really interesting, I can easily spend half an hour or more trying to capture as much of it as I can. If nothing is really happening, maybe just a 5 minute sketch.

We generally go as early as possible, and stay as long as we have energy... long days, but good 'uns.

That came out of noticing that when they were reaching up to grab hay, the elephant's trunk tip looked a lot like an eyeless sock puppet. XD
