Its solemn qualities are probably the key elements of this painting. It's introspective and forward-thinking, but in a very simplistic manner and semi-folkloric nature.

I love it, Danny. Your models seem always to be the same girl(s). Don't have to answer. Just wonder who they are. I suspect either you have a daughter(s) who's a ham at posing like mine was, or you just make 'em up.

In a curious cross-over with our other conversation, this week I recorded (but have yet to watch) "The Kite Runner," an Afghan movie in which I believe the Taliban display a tolerant attitude towards kite-flying.

Incidentaly, her hat is awesome.
