This picture isn't good for much except for a meager cute factor and that it shows the Mokona gems on their foreheads. Please part 2 and 3 for more details.

Believe it or not, these guys actually almost took three years to make: I found rallamajoop's tutorial for a pipe fox about that time and began to gather what materials I could on my meager budget. Alas, one thing or another would come up and I had to set the project aside in the bottom drawer of my desk.

Fast forward to about a month ago: I was looking for some Tsubasa Chronicle/xxxholic fanart when I rediscovered rallamajoop's tutorial along with Bahamut50's own version and I decided the timing was finally right. With lots of improvisation and some divine intervention, I ended up with the above results.

Maybe it was because fanart of the Mokona's far outnumbered those dedicated to Mugetsu that I got the outrageous inspiration to combine the character designs. My reasoning at the time was that Soel (the white Mokona) claims to have 108 secret abilities, and it is implied that Larg (you should know who that is by process of elimination) has a few of his own, so maybe shape shifting into other cutie critters is one of them?

It's interesting what excuses people will give themselves to try something stupid.

However, I personally am very satisfied with the results. : )
