Description DOLL *spasms*

I had a lot of time on my hands today that I wasn't planning on having, so I crawled around the house putting together a set for doll photos 8D like, a FULL BLOWN set. LOOK AT ALL THOSE PROPS. I don't know how I did, but it was fun, and therefore I am satisfied.

CHARACTER RAMBLE GO:

This is Kaim stowed away in the gypsy wagon in which he resides. Those things around him are pretty much all his worldly possessions, or at least the ones he cares to hang onto. He's not big on furnishing his wagon corner because wagons jostle and knock his things off the wall, which is frustrating gosh darnit. So he just piles his things in his trunk and sits on his mismatched gypsy blankets and thinks about how he would love to hang more things on the wall. Oh, and one of his gypsy camp friends made that wooden dollish thing. He doesn't like to call it a doll because he's a boy, and boys don't play with dolls. But then he's not sure what to call it. Whatever it is, he's very attached to it 8);;

YAY! SETS. Next mission: more clothes X_x

I love fully propped sets (is that even correct English? Oh well)!
Also really like the yellowish light, it looks like sunlight shining through an old window (of his wagon, I suppose).

Thank you! 8) I love those kinds of sets, too, which is why I was eager to try one. And I'm so glad the lighting worked...I had to use a lamp and I didn't want it to end up looking too artificial ><

Whenever I take an in-set picture I usually dress up the whole scene as much as I can, and I use regular desk lamps all the time... Works fine for me! It just takes some time to figure out the right angle and distance... I have about 5 small lamps, all with different sized light circles and light colours (white, yellow, blue) and just fumble around with the, using books and blocks of wood to get them at the right height sometimes I even tape them to the wall. As long as the picture turns out good, who cares that everything around the set looks like an amateuristic mess, right?

Lol, exactly. And my sets always look pretty silly outside the frame of the photo XD but if it gets the job done...I'm working now on experimenting more with lamps and artificial light so I'm not limited to daylight hours, so I'll probably be doing a lot of what you're describing in the future 8) I'm always open to tips!

The only tips I can give you are
-use a tripod/ something else to stabilize your camera (I often find myself taking pictures under limited light, so slow shutter speed),
and
-for lamps, two words: Adjustable. Arm.

But GO TO BED YOU NEED REST. GET BETTER NOW SO WE CAN DO EPIC THINGS UPON MY RETURN.
