Description Hey everyone, here's the finished version of Rogue! From the moment I settled in the "savage lands" version I was inspired by Frank Frazetta's artwork. So I wanted to get that "painterly" look on the background, with colors that gave that "jungle swamp" look.

Great work on the lights and shadows. It is really hard to make it look convincing and I gotta say you sold it 100%, the feeling that there is something in front of her, and she's not just posing in front of a greenscreen

If I have but one complaint, it's that the stone spear and her hair have a more comic-like feel to them, in contrast to the realistic look of her skin and the wildlife. But that's just a minor issue.

Also, I couldn't help but notice, all your characters are definetely on the athletic side

thanks! Tbh I think the trickiest thing is to get the "atmosphere" right. Make it look like she's actually there and not just "posing". And since most of the work I do is fanart, characters of games and stories usually are more like "adventurers" or simply see a lot of action. So I try to make them athletic but still something a real person could have. I'm not much of a fan of doing "impossible hourglass bodies" on every character.

Haha, I agree. Well nothing against fit women. Also if that's what you find beautiful/attractive, 2 birds one stone. I think art at its core is idealizing and the celebration of beauty in any form is part of it.

I have to say I really enjoy it.

But at the same time I like to vary a bit whenever I have the opportunity. I try to draw characters with varying breast sizes, some more curvy, some slender, etc etc. As the saying goes, variety is the spice of life

This came out most wonderfully.  Beautiful work on the sexy muscle tone of her strong, athletic physique.  Love the tattered design of her skimpy jungle attire and how it shows off the amazing beauty of her sexy body, especially her abs and thighs.  I also love your attention to detail in showing off her sexy sweatiness...  love how the bareness of her skin from her face to her thighs glistens with beads and trickles of heavy sweat, love how her hair is drenched with sweat, and love how her scant clothing is soaked and dripping with sweat.  She comes across as strongly fragrant in a sexy way of sweat and unwashed feminine pheromones.

Wonderful depth you have her legs in the swamp waters...  it really draws attention to the sexiness of her strong thighs.  And, yes, your choice of colors do give the background the looks of a treacherous jungle swamp, her strong legs straining and lifting her feet and calves from the suction of the swamp mud as she slowly trudges through the jungle in her quest.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment! I really like to make those small "bright points" in the skin because it gives a very natural look of sweat skin. I think it's a subtle but important distinction between making a character "sweaty" instead of "wet". In my opinion, it's something that goes a long way on showing a strong yet feminine figure. The waters and background were really interesting to do, because from the start I wanted to give that jungle/swamp feel. So the water had to look like it has that thick layer of moss on top of it, something that you slowly and silently traverse, and not just go splashing around.

All in all, I think those details are really important to make it cool and help "sell" the scene better.

You're welcome!

Your attention to details for her sweat and the swamp surface water layer certainly came through in this piece.  You can sense from this artwork that her legs are meeting considerable resistance of the surface moss and, perhaps, the suction and stickiness of the thick, gooey mud bottom below, slowing her pace, making her work harder at transversing, and, thus, working up a sexy, heavy sweat.  Nice work!

I like how you do water effects for wet skin and wet hair (you do wet cloth good too, but Rogue's sexiness distracts from that ^^), you are a great artist.

Not sure whether I like her better with the cloth or without it.

roughly around this moment.  marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Uncanny…

it's a very old series from 90s x-men. But for obvious reasons it's a theme that's revisited every now and then by artists
