Description This one I took during a scenic flight over the Namib Desert, Namibia. This dune is called dune 45.

Sorry for the extreme delay in my response...Haven't checked my account for ages. You asked if there's a particular
reason for the name 'Dune 45'. Well, it's the real name of that dune. It's located in the Namib desert. Every dune there has got it's own number, so it's easy to list and research I guess...

Thanks for your kind comment, and enjoy New Zealand. I unfortunately only know it from pictures from my ex-girlfriend (her mother lives somewhere Near napier). Beautiful country! Like to go there some time...

Hey. No probs. All good! Oh that's quite cool that each dune has it's own name. But wait. I don't understand. Don't the dunes usually blow away and form into something else or accumulate or something?

New Zealand is pretty gorgeous. It's green and hilly. Only thing that irritates me is the four seasons in one day. Lol. Pah! Anywho, take care!

Yeah, that indeed is the case. The dunes continue to shift size and shapes. Very very slowly of course. Cool huh?
So probably after a period of time they have to re-name the whole bunch, I guess

Very nice picture. But I think the top of the picture is not as good as the bottom. I mean the colors are less vibrant and strong. But there's nothing to do if you want to keep the kind of hole in the center of the photo. But a crop on the bottom could create a very good and almost abstract picture.
Great picture anyway.
