Description "No need for words
Your heartbeats and the breeze was all I heard
Your hopes and fears
How trivial they seem from up here
I breathe you in
As the sunlight breaks the haze to touch your skin
Beneath the glow
Of a different kind of Sunday morning..."
(Until Tomorrow, Hybrid/John Graham)

Drenneth stares helplessly at Narwa's fallen form, knowing he has failed her. He wonders if life after death exists. He wonders if she forgives him.

Little does he realize that she is already watching over him, and that she will be with him always...

This Stream of Consciousness thing must be working, because this is a painting I've wanted to do since 2006, but never started. I just started doodling trees today and ended up making it Drenneth's story. Must be breaking down some mental walls.

Just over 1 hour, Photoshop

Leaf brush is by...hrm...I think it's one of `Dianae 's. All the other brushes are mine.

How did this take you only an hour, holy crap

Hehe! Thanks! The trees only took a few minutes because they are made from pretty simple lines. The people took a bit longer, but didn't really take that long because they're so tiiiiiny. The last 30 minutes or so was tweaking colours, lighting, sharpness.

I'm still impressed. Backgrounds are something I can never manage. But this has real atmosphere.

This is beautiful. I love the texture it has to it, I always wonder how people achieve that...

Thank you so much for the comment!

I've been playing around with texture a lot lately...I made a bunch of gritty brushes that I throw on top of stuff to give it a bit of noise. I always "sharpen" the image in Photoshop as well right when I finish it off, which tends to bring out a lot of texure. Texture is a lot of fun.

You're welcome!

Sweet! Thanks for the tip - I will try that out! I actually do that sharpening the image thing just a little bit with photos sometimes, I can't believe I didn't think of it with digital paintings!

Cool, have fun! I know that some people play around with throwing paper textures, etc. on top of their stuff as well to give it some extra pop...I haven't quite mastered that yet though. Some people get fantastic results with it, eg: `loish ~jouste

Yeah! I should really try that out, I think I know how to do it... or did... I'll have to refresh my memory. Hehe. Thanks so much for the tips, I really appreciate it! I always feel bad asking other artists because I'm afraid they'll think I'm trying to steal their SECRETS!

Haha, any "secrets" I have are stolen directly from teachers, friends, people I admire...lol. So steal away! And I will do the same in return...particularly if you figure out the applying external textures thing. I try to overlay or multiply it, and it just ends up washing everything out or muddying it. :\ Sigh.

Aww! Yeah, I'm the same really hehe. I will let you know if I figure it out! I can ask my roommate, he's pretty good with this SHITE. I know we learned something in class about it, I think... but I think I was tired that day haha. But YEAH I'm sure there's a way to do it!

So beautiful! I love the feel of this, the loneliness, sadness and it being amongst Earth's greenery, it's living things. The "soul" is beautiful.
