I made this minor race portrait for Star Control: Origins - Syndicate DLC.

One of my more grotesque ideas, with a bit more elaborate backstory. In short, these are AI driven medical exoskeletons built to maintain mobility and life functions for a race that was attacked by a deteriorative disease that causes paralisys and organ failure, to buy time until a cure was developed. Unfortunately the race got extinct while their bodies were surrounded by these exoskeletons, and the AI at their cores decided to extend their own existence by preserving the bodies, as without bodies their programming forces them to shut down.

So guess what? StarDock didn't want to use neither my weird idea nor the pic, which isn't that good anyway.
