I don't really like Chespin that much, I understand his appeal but he just looks like a regular patrat-type pokemon to me. I think it's great they're finally expanding out of reptiles but they could have chosen a better pokemon to represent that...It seems like a rat snuck into the lab, killed the true grass starter then put it's skin on and pretended to be the grass starter lol...

i've read its japanese name has something to do with hedgehogs... though i've heard all kinds of speculations about what it could be, like a sloth or a chipmunk or a beaver and even more ~ __ ~

I'm not really too excited about Chespin either, but I'll see if it's evolutions have potential, because I think it could turn into something cool.
And to me it also looks a lot like Oshawott.

I completely agree with you on Chespin. At first, I had absolutely no idea what he was... ;=_= But really, I wasn't too happy with the starter designs this generation, but oh well.

I love that little guy out of all the new starters, and that's saying something because I never like the Grass starter over the fire (besides Treecko..)

I think he's awesome! I was never fond of grass starters but this guy is by far one of the best designs.. wait till you see his evolutions, Im sure your opinion will change.. this guy has great potential
