Sorry that I haven't actually been active guys. I'm going through a lot of stuff that's kept me busy physicaly and mentally. TT v TT It's a really stressful time for me and I have so many things on my mind that I've been a mess on the floor. (Also, I sincerely apologize to anyone who was messaging me via any messaging system and hasn't received a response- if I've read it, I just can't think of an answer or don't have energy to answer, please don't take it personally o)--( )

But anyway, this is a birthday present for the kickass Sabsab ! Happy 18th, Sabrina!!!
I hope you have had a wonderful and terrific day despite you not thinkin' it's any day out of the ordinary. To me, it is a day where a really close internet friend of mine was brought into existence and has taught me so many things about myself and about tons of things- from admining to writing to arting! Your awesome improvements are such an inspiration to me as I strive to become better at roleplay and art! Today I have the excuse to be able to say outloud how much I love that you exist in my life without sounding super cheesy or crazy. There are still hundreds and hundreds of roads to choose from and take as you venture into adulthood and I hope I can continue to cheer you on.

Context time!
Sabrina, Mafu and I came up with a WorldTrain !High school AU that I nicknamed Sugoi High, and translated our characters and their backstories as best as we could into this simple high school universe.
For example, since Heren's hair in World Train-verse is white and there is no natural "white" hair colour in a normal high school universe, we decided that in this AU, Heren had to have bleached his natural red hair to a very pale blond, and then the tips cyan blue and purple in order to get the canon hair color he has in World Train. Other than that though, Arla of course doesn't have cursed eyes or pointed ears, nor Heren wings and a tail.

In case you were wondering, yes, this is supposed to look very similar to a scene from the manga Hirunaka no Ryuusei (Daytime Shooting Star). I referenced the pose! xD
Sabrina introduced me to HnR last year and she has subsequently ruined my life by doing so because I caNNOT HOLD IN ALL THESE FEELINGS I LOVE IT SO MUCH NSKDFJS-- IT'S ALL HER FAULT THAT I ANXIOUSLY AWAIT EVERY UPDATE AND I JUST UGH. This manga is one of my favourites and I owe it to Sabsab for showing it to me. The two of us sometimes squeal about it together (although I think I annoy her with it mostly), and we vigorously headcanon that our ocs would be similar to the characters in the manga.
While the people in the drawing aren't Mamura and Suzume, the characters from HnR (you can tell just from the outfits! Though I suppose it's easier to tell the girl isn't Suzume than it is to tell the boy isn't Mamura, hehe), the two characters here are Heren and Arlaena- my oc and Sabrina's oc respectively! Heren would be Mamura, and Arlaena would be Suzume.
So yes, it's supposed to look very much like the corresponding scene in the manga, all the while portraying our headcanon high school AU. I hope you like it, Sab!

Whew, it's been a while since I actually draw anything serious. My original plan for the birthday gift was a comic, but it seems I still don't have a lot of energy to draw;; I might work and finish the comic eventually though...I'm happy with what I have of it so far, but I'm still stuck in a slump... TT v TT
Nevertheless, I actually like how this came out! I spent so much time not drawing but instead looking at other people's art and crying over how terrible my own is that I guess I decided to try some of other people's techniques and stuff. And I think it looks alright! Since I painted this and am still new to this painting business, I'm pretty satisfied with it. I love the way Heren's bleached hair and bag came out, as well as Arlaena's uniform. I tried new things with painting skin, too! As for the background, I tried to do something "shoujo"-esque but I dunno if I really managed to do that...Q v Q But, at least I tried.
