this is what happened when I talked to ~BlueMario while answering my messages the other day
I was explaining to him the Mario like-ness of my family, and how me and my sister had nick names.my nickname from middle school to high school was Maggie-O (so I was Mario) and my little sister, who just happened to be taller than me, was called Lu-Annie. (Luigi)
we got those names because of our strong Italian past and because our father is a spitting image of Mario...and he's plummer/HVAC tech....
I tried to design some costumes that reflected each of us though....I was always told I was the cute, sweet, non violent, Zombie hating and naive one, that everyone loved to be around and played Video games non stop.
my sister (no mater how hard she tries to deny it) was the pretty one of us. heck, guys would pretend they were friends with me just to take a shot at getting a date with her. she's also the foul mouthed, rock music loving muscle of us too....
the picture isn't done to great, and the quality shows how much time I spent on it. only maybe 2 hours at the most....but I like it...my sister is likely to ill me though

The costume designs are adorable, though O_o Lu-Annie's kinda has a Kingdom Hearts feel to it...
And Im not just saying that because Ive been on a Kingdom Hearts 2 kick lately....

well, even still only white mages and white wizards can cast life, holy, Dia and spells like that. sure red mages and mage knights can learn smaller heal spells, but only white mages/wizards can learn multi heals, and spells that heal much more, like Esuna

I KNOW RES(Reserects fallen comrad, heals 1/4 life)! Also, BEET THIS SPELL! HURR-ARCANE(200-350 dmg,Damages all enimies, 100 water dmg, 30 arcane dmg)!!!!!!

only a white mage or wizard can learn life giving spells though in the (early) FF world
and it's a darn good thing white mages can learn 'null all' which nullifies the power of all elemental damage -^_^- yay! white mages may not be that great when it comes to attacks, but when it comes to protecting the party...they are just great at it

The "Mage" part of me is an "Elemental"(Another thing I made up) type. That's the reason I can res. people (Earth=Carbon=Humans).

aww that's not very fair....you can't make up things to make your character all powerful in a universe with character laws already set up (like in FF). other wise what's the point of having so many diffrent party members if one is all you need?
kind of ruins the fun...

what you talkin' about woman!?! I neva said us Elemental Mages were al power full. Nah, I just know Res when it comes to healling. I know what will ruin fun and what won't. I mainly specialize in Water and Earth atacks, but I do know a good amount of Melee/Weapon attacks. Now, if you teamed me up with some-one like you, I'd prolly go RUSHING into battles, scince I know some one on mah team can heal me (That's one of the things that's going to happen in my FanFic of FFI). Yepers, I know a spell that can heal the dead, but that's the only GOOD one. Also, I can use something called "Team up" that alows me and someone else in my team to attack at the same time, and it also combines those to attacks to gether. So, with that, you could accoually do a fair amount of dmg. Unfortunatly, it's like a last-resort. I drains ALL of my MP/EN(magic power/energy).

O_o all I stated was that your character seems to make Maggie the white mage a little useless...seeing that a white mages most valuable feature was a life spell, (which only a white mage/wizard could learn in FF). I didn't think you'd take it like that. sorry
adding to a set class that someone else created just seems a little weird to me....I like to leave things the way they are, with set abilities and set strengths, you know?
other people like to play around to make a versatile character, but to me, nothing is more of a challenge than makeing do with what is supposed to be set.
but if your character in the FFI fic happens to know a life giving spell, make sure you note that he has a white magic background then

He just came to that world out of Who-knows-where (prolly the Mario universe, but he can't remmeber that), and fell on a Wizard who offered to teach him magic. She taught Jason all sorts of spells, but they were mainly healling, while her husband taught Jason. Attacks and a few elemental spells.
