a bit more than a year ago, when I started playing. first during Lyn's story it was like 'ohhhh, who's this handsome man?' then his story happened and like 'daaang I love this guy a lot' and thEN the part where we sat in his home and stayed up all night talking made me super emotional and fall in love more, and from then on it was just LOVE. the part where his dad died and he held his hand the whole way back slaaaayed me and made me an emotional wreck ;A; like, everyone else had suffered from war but not him everyone just wanted him to be happy forever my gosh, and HE THOUGHT HE KILLED NINIANNNNN I cry
and at the end I didn't leave, I stayed and got married the endΒ

I liked him around 2010, I think? I was getting into FE, and I was into Brawl at the time. I wanted to get to know more about FE and stuff. I looked up Roy because he was a FE character who used to be in Smash, but got cut out for some reason. I basically looked him up for curiosity reasons. I thought he was cute, so I liked him. When I first saw Eliwood, I was confused; I thought he was a different version of Roy or something? I didn't think he looked that cool, but that's because his official artwork was kinda boring looking. Face is stupidly adorable, Β but his pose was static.
I looked him up on the wiki. I was curious, I mean there's a game about Roy's father? I saw more of his official artwork, specifically his ending ones, I started liking him. His official artwork (the one where he's just standing) doesn't do him much justice IMO. It's the action drawings that help make his design shine.Β
Fast forward to a few months ago; I've liked Eliwood for a while, but I never knew about his personality. I thought he was a generic hero character until I saw more of his dialogue and involvement in the game. So cute. I ended up liking him even more after that.

yea his fullbody art feels different than in the game but I mean I'll take it ;w; all the official promo art is a liiittle weird cause they have 'hero proportions' which make them really uber tall haha

He already looks cute. His personality makes him even cuter, IMO. I heard in the Japanese version, he's a bit more shy and awkward.
Yeah the artwork for him is actually kind of out of character. He is heroic, but not extremely. He's more sensitive I believeΒ

Heck yeah. I've owned BS for like five years or so. I found the cartridge at a local GameStop. I didn't start playing it seriously until this year though. Eliwood was honestly what got me into the game in the first place. I partially played it because of him. I've owned a GBA for even longer. I'm a big Pokemon fan; I have almost all the official GBA games. My first game ever was the Super Mario Bros 2 remake for the GBA. I'm kind of a baby still, yeah.
I can't cosplay... It's not that I don't have the build for it, I just... can't cosplay. I admire people who enjoy cosplaying though, I mean it is another art form after all. Awww if I could cosplay Eliwood, I would, but I'm just not feeling it. I think partially it has to do with the crapload of money you have to spend. Maybe I could be your Lyn, but like you probably don't live near me so yeah.

alsoo have you played Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door? this game is soooo freaking good and I think about it often. great characters (including diverse females, WOW), original 'temples' and fun puzzles, and also the only game where I like Mario as a person, haha

I don't mind more FE characters. At the same time though, they should have added more Nintendo characters. I'm not too crazy about reps, but I think representation was handled rather poorly in the last pack of DLC. The only newcomer we got from Nintendo was another FE character. I like Corrin, but I feel like that spot should have went to the Inklings, or maybe even another DK character.

I'm just... upset that there isn't much variety like you mentioned. Granted, I don't play Smash anymore but it feels like Sakurai is caving into the fans' wishes and there's not much thought about the roster. Well, everything's all about fanservice now so I'm not surprise either...

Yeah. I kinda disagree with Sakurai's philosophy for characters. He only seems to add characters if they're huge gaming icons or for promotional reasons. Very rarely would he add an obscure character; an obscure character would only get into Smash if he or she were a retro character, or if he or she had a new game coming up. It's a shame because there are other characters that need love. For some strange reason though, it's like Sakurai refuses to use them. For example, I like Dixie Kong; I've been wanting her since Brawl. It's been three or four games, and she still hasn't appeared. I'm not upset, just kinda curious as to why Sakurai doesn't want to add her or other commonly requested characters. Guess like we'll find out next game I guess lol.
Also, why don't you play Smash anymore? Bored? Disappointed? Busy?

Dixie Kong is a good choice! A lot of people wanted Shantae in too but we get all these non-Nintendo characters and unnecessary characters. Everything's all about popularity now... Now I wish there ISN'T a Smash #5 because he most likely will screw up again...
I just... got bored of it Smash lol. And I have a full-time job so I come home and don't want to do anything. I'm also disappointed at the roster and the lack of story as well. So, a bit of everything...

Yeah. Unfortunately, popularity is the easiest way of gauging whether to add a character or not, so naturally unpopular characters will be looked over unless if they're retro of they have a game coming up.
Eh, I want a Smash 5 anyway. I'm not expecting them to add any of my favorite characters in; I never expect that. I just want to see who they will add next game, and how they will improve in the next one.Β

Sometimes I just think I'm too old for gaming. I know you're never too old for games, but other things seem to be more important than debating with others on games.
I guess there was so much drama regarding Smash 4 and I was going through a enlightening moment in my life, haha.
As long as people are fine with it and everyone has a good time, it's a good thing.
Keep enjoying Smash! I'm a terrible Smash player though, haha.
