Description Part of my series of video game ladies who were my favorites at some point in my life.

Sarah from Shining Force II

I remember finding Sarah very funny for her monochromatic blue color scheme, but her cheery personality. I imagined all sorts of adventures and schemes for her to get up to with the other guys in her classes at the start of the game. I was probably 9 and started trying to design outfits for her when I was not happy with her promotion to Vicar in my dad's game. (I was watching him play most of the time, rather than playing on my own.)

After a little while, I lost interest in Sarah and went on to other games. When I came back to the game a few years later to play it on my own and discovered I could promote Sarah to be a Master Monk, she became the strongest character in my party and my love for her was renewed along with ideas for her story. Cheery priest girl with quick ideas becomes a master at hand to hand combat? Whoa.

I'm so in love with her Master Monk promotion that I don't often draw her 'before' state. So for this 'Characters I Liked Growing Up' sort of series, I put her in the original outfit that made me smile so much.

Thank you!

I use both the kind in the little cakes and the kind in the tube, it pretty much just depends on my mood (or how messy my palette is)! Some of the tubes I use are actually gouache as well, but I guess I use them more like watercolor? Something like that. Gouache is supposed to be really good for very pure, bright color.
