A super super late Secret Santa gift for HigurashiCries
Only a month or so late...not so bad :'D heh..heh..heh..This is their request for a Ghost-typed mega Flygon evolution. I wanted the mega Flygon to be using Shadow Ball...but unfortunately Flygon doesn't learn that move..so Hyper Beam it is. The normal Flygon on the other hand is using Double Team after whipping up a Sandstorm. I don't know what was going through my head when I decided to choose Double Team. Probably would've saved me loads of time if I just stuck to something simple like Dragon Breath..oh well. Hope ye all like it.
The design isn't super clear on this painting, plus I tried to make the Pokemon a bit more realistic, so here's a reference sheet I made for myself : mapledragon.deviantart.com/art…
Most of the texture brushes were from here (used around 3 or so). Rest were photoshop texture brushes.

This is a beautiful picture! I love all the attention to the small details, like the writing on the stone in the background. The scales on Flygon really add to that realistic tone of the picture. I also really like how the picture tells a story. The battle between the Flygon looks really serious compared to just a friendly battle. So I really like the destruction in the background and the colour scheme chosen. Gyah this would just be wonderful if it was a movie! It has such a historical feel and I am a huge sucker for that!
I feel really honoured to have this picture made for me ^_^ It is definitely worthy of a daily deviation feature! I hope it gets one

I love how you adapted Pokemon into a more realistic style, it makes the battle scene look more intense than if you had stuck with the anime style! I love the poses and the background. This is all just amazing!
