Description
On a side note, I haven’t been drawing too much lately because I’ve been so busy with college, so I’ve gotten a little ‘rusty.’ I’ve even had a drawing sitting there for a few months because of it. I’ll have to get back to this stuff when I get some time off.
I also should probably change the title of this but nahhhhhh

I can see what you were aiming for but the issues with this duck are its forms. It's coming off as flat all around mostly due to the complete profile view its at. But also because the way the shapes of the various panels and natural areas wrap around cause it to look flat since they aren't properly created. When drawing out the initial sketch you should draw through the piece so you can understand fully where the objects wrap around and where they end instead of just guessing. A good example of this is the coils around his neck. They wrap around in incorrect ways and it shows that you more or less guessed instead of being more accurate with it and drawing through to see where they should be. The beak, the wings, the gears on his legs as well as his legs all have a flat look to them because the panels don't wrap around correctly to the shape of the duck but instead it was drawn more as what you thought it should look like. The rendering ontop of these areas helps to solidify them into a flat nature as well as the lighting doesn't quite accentuate form but accentuates the flat nature of the rest of the image.
