UPDATE: much better and sharper colors
Finally finished! I have to say I had quite much fun painting this picture despite losing sleep over it ; 3 ; and it's the first time I had a chance of drawing Hinoto (I love this character, I have wanted to draw her for ages!), Kobato and the TRC team in a fully colored illustration ; A ;Β It was originally born as a teaser illustraton for my next CLAMP doujinshi (it will include characters of many of their series) so I can't really say much about what's going on here but a good thing is that I didn't include all the elements and I kinda drifted away from the ideas I'm planning to execute in the comic so no spoilers included hehe
The setting is fantasy-like and so are their clothes, as I'm planning to keep the story in such atmosphere I hope you guys will enjoy it ; 3 ;Β

it's very beautiful but i'm fairly curious... why do you always draw chii's hair so dark? is that just a personal preference? or... I'd like to know

I try to use colors similar to those from CLAMP's artbook with Chobits illustrations 'Your Eyes Only"(I'm more fond of it), I don't follow anime where it was brighter and more blond

I love covers of manga too ^ u ^ CLAMP's illustrations win over anime in my taste, I dislike blond interpretation but then again, anime cannot be usually trusted, animators often go quite freely with interpretations. Β I'll be honest, Chii's hair is hard to get right so I'm experimenting with various colors. It's a weird color, like a mix of grey and warm brown, quite hard to get with traditional media and even with digital ones, although I feel traditional drawings do her justice the most. People use variations when they draw her, some use blond, some grey and some brown sometimes because CLAMP themselves do it in various ways

i would think maybe watercolor would be the best bet at making it?

I honestly I could draw beautiful art like this but I'm very busy with work and my new start up company. Β I enjoy watching your art and remembering your characters from years ago. Brings a smile to my face every time I see your work. Β I still believe you're an angel you know...XD
