Well, I got the idea for the animal headed humans from the Ancient Egyptian gods...Anubis, Thoth, Bastet and the like. The style i'm working in and garments they're wearing are inspired by Victorian photographs. The claim that they're "from the early 21st century" applies to when they were actually painted...that and the belief that people haven't really changed all that much through time. I'm sure I'll develop more symbolic parallels as the series goes forward.

Its going pretty good. My art is slow sadly but I have been writing a lot so I guess I cant have both haha. But other then that Im doing well. Celebrated my birthday all weekend. Today is the official day but we have been enjoying the weekend. I find I have to cut in and out of this place lately to avoid burning out.

Yeah, I know what you mean- I slide back and forth between projects too, and not a lot of painting gets done when I'm focused on song writing or fiber arts aspects of the art work...
things are generally going good...doing some group shows and keeping busy in general.
