This art invokes the fantasy within!! Okay, I've read the other two critiques and although I don't have a problem with it- the lighting could use some touching up. Like the wolf's eyes and blood, as well as the building windows seem like they should glow. Also the eyes inside that tree back there and the girl's gun could use some glow too. The bottom part below the wolf's face where the red splosh is doesn't seem to fit with the greenery there. So I wonder what that is, unless maybe it's a destroyed pumpkin. I love the face on that hunter girl, so feisty. The wolf looming in on her is quite menacing and reveals just how eager he is to tear her apart for attacking him. Creative take on the classic tale! You did well to make the most highly saturated aspects of the piece be the two characters. The piece unfortunately lacks contrast. In agreement with another critic, the left side looks very bland. If this was your intention in order to make the subjects pop, then perhaps you could have undergone another method to make the two more prominent. Good job in maintaining stability in technique though. Everything falls into the same range when it comes to the level of detail given, although the pumpkins and tree leaves could have received a bit more attention. Good job!

I have been in very few critiques, but I understand the elements of design. I see you used very smooth lines. It is very clear that you used darker colors in your favor the create the grim and powerful impact of this scene that appears to be dark and maybe even a little evil. I have to say you used very rounded shapes to create what appears to be figures. The final thing I have to say about this piece is that the colors and shapes really bring the peice together to create this final story that shows perhaps a darker version of the fairy tail, more lie the original story but with a modern twist

This is really an outstanding piece! and so close to perfection! The previous comments offer a better guide to the piece in terms of a whole and working new techniques or adapting. Personally I feel what you need is a push to finish this in your own style, the way you have been, so my only suggestion would be to darken the body of the wolf that is hidden behind the wall that it touches! this should give you a better idea on which areas to work on next (as in values and contrast) Your proportions, style and palette are truly great!

This piece has good composition and style! I think the value and color could be reconsidered. your painting style seems to lend itself to color vibrancy i think a more careful consideration to the contrast of values would help generally. I get that you are trying to evoke the feeling of night but the lack of color and bland contrast between values doesn't help. the left side is particularly wishy washy. I think your style of painting is somewhere between graphic and realism and could use a push in a direction if you like a graphic style consider line work and careful design of shapes if you're interested in realism maybe try some edge work and color variation in the shadows. maybe practice both!

Hi this is my first critique as I have just started devian art. This is a very stunning artwork and the mood of the piece is very nice. I love the choice of colours, the layout and how it has hidden objects throughout the piece. My only critique would be maybe making some of the highlights a bit brighter or whiter and some darks a little darker to get a better contrast which it already has. This would make some of the objects pop more. You should be really proud of yourself for completing this piece as it is truly stunning.

The wolf dragon thing can't be all bad if he takes a reading break between gobbling little kids. Especially when they're armed with bazookas.
Of course, in the context of the fairy tale, I know that's not the implied story. But it can be!

Modern RRH kicks ass. Nice idea and great coloring. There's something slightly wrong about perspective - her right leg is strange and the gun seems to be broken, but it's a great pic anyway!
